We opened a charity shop in 1999 in the centre of Newtown, with the aim of raising funds for the building project, and to help raise awareness of the needs of older people in our community. In 2006 the facility was expanded and refurbished inside and out to provide larger, more attractive retail space.
As many of you will know, we have been closed since end of March this year. Unfortunately due to current circumstances the Bethshan Charity Shop will not be re opening.
We just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to every one of our customers, far and wide who have supported us over the last 22 years of being open.
Every penny that we have raised has benefited a resident in the Bethshan Nursing Home. With your support we have been able to purchase specialist beds, upholstery, much needed equipment and provide the staff with items necessary in the day to day running of Bethshan.
The Bethshan shop has not just been a way to raise money for the Home but a place where regulars came in for a chat, a place where those in need have been provided with warm clothes, a place that offered a warm smile and some encouragement when they were going through a tough time.
We have loved serving our town and our community for many years, but now it’s time for a change.
We also want to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every staff member, volunteer, trainee that has passed through our doors and have had a helping hand in all that we have achieved.
Please keep a look out on the Facebook page
for a few bargains that we will be selling off once we start to empty the shop over the next few weeks. We will be asking for payment and for items to be collected straight away.
Thank you again, you have been amazing and a pleasure to serve.
Love Jeni & the Bethshan Team
